We started growing shiitake mushrooms as a hobby. Our small pile of logs grew into hundreds of inoculated logs. We are producing so many that we needed something to do with them, we could only eat so many! The idea came to blend dehydrated ones into a delicious spice to add to endless dishes. We are fortunate to live in an area surrounded by forest where we can venture out and forage for several species of edible mushrooms. We hope to share these flavors with mushroom lovers.
Log GrownOur shiitakes are organically grown in NC on Oak logs. No pesticides, herbicides ever used. The logs are hand plugged with a variety of shiitake spores from Field & Forest Products.
